Mum peacefully passed away on November 3, 2026 at the age of 83.
Mum is survived by her husband Allen and her 4 boys, Dan (Pat) Bob (Laurie) Bill (Linda) and Rick (Heather). Mum is also leaving behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren that will carry her memory in their hearts. She will be remembered by her beloved sister Lenore and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mum was predeceased by her mother and father (Fred and Bertha Giddings) and her brother in law (Gerry Syzek).
Mum grew up in Winnipeg in the North End. After sending her 4 boys off to school, she decided to start working. She worked at K-Mart until getting a job with Pollard Banknote. She worked there until she retired as a supervisor. She became a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and was involved in many activities before becoming a lifetime member. You could always find her watching curling, football, baseball and hockey whether it was one of her boys or on TV.
Above all, Mum will be remembered for her love of family and the many memories shared with those closest to her. Mum’s passing leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her memory will live on through the generations of family she leaves behind.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors in the respiratory ward at HSC for taking care of Mum. We would also like to thank everyone who has supported Mum and Allen throughout the years. We would like to thank Branch & Pyre for helping us through this difficult process.
According to Mum’s wishes cremation has taken place and the family will have a private ceremony at a later time.
