Elsie Mae Vielhaber

May 16, 1932 - August 23, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we share the death of our mom, Elsie Mae Vielhaber, née Jenner, on August 23, 2026, 94 years of age, at Riverview Health Centre. She was predeceased by her husband Bill Vielhaber, great-grandson Beau Vielhaber and her three brothers Billy, Bart and Peter Jenner.

She will be missed by her children, Donna (Alan), Willie (Joanne), Laura (Mike) and Herb (Brenda). Her nine grandchildren, Casey, Darren, Christa, Robert, Jason, Sean, Andrew, Kristin and Alanna as well as seven great-grandchildren will miss their Oma. Her sister Mary Olivier and sister-in-law Margaret Jenner are also mourning her death.

She was raised in St. Vital and spent her adult life in Elmwood/East Kildonan area.

Mom’s life was defined by her dedication and devotion to those she loved. This was shown in her 56 year marriage to Bill, her unconditional love for her four children, and the deep connections with her many life long friends.

Elsie knew how to have a good time! She was playful at heart and had a great sense of humour. Mom’s bright cheerful smile brought joy and warmth to every heart in her presence. She also had a cheeky little smile when she was delivering one of her often witty comments.

Mom loved dancing, playing games, bowling and lunching with the ladies. Her greatest joy was playing with her grandchildren, be it baking, building forts or having tea parties.

A huge thank you to the staff of CD1 at Riverview Health Centre for the care our mother received.

A private Celebration of Life with family will occur at a later date. Share some ice cream or play a game of cards in her memory.

In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made in her honour to Riverview Health Centre or Manitoba Under Dogs Rescue.
