Albert George Bain

April 16, 1948 - June 16, 2025

Albert George Bain was Promoted to Glory with family by his side on June 16, 2025, at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 77 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Barbara (nee Howes), and their children and spouses: Jonathan and Amy, David and Amanda, Heather and Marty. Albert was a proud and cherished grandfather to 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

He was predeceased by his parents, James and Margaret Bain, and his siblings Tom, Francis, Joan, and Jimmy.

Albert was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. In 1975, while working at the Salvation Army House of Concord in Toronto, he met the love of his life, Barbara. Their shared faith and purpose formed the foundation of a lifelong partnership, and they were married on September 11, 1976.

Albert’s life was marked by faithful service, compassion, and quiet strength. As an officer (pastor) with the Salvation Army, he touched countless lives with his gentle wisdom, steadfast faith, and loving heart. He was a man of integrity, humility, and unwavering devotion to his family, his calling, and his Lord.

Albert also had a deep love of sports and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Though he wasn’t always able to be there in person, he always wanted to support them and proudly share stories of their successes with anyone who would listen. His enthusiasm and pride in his grandchildren’s achievements were a joyful part of his life.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at The Salvation Army Southlands Community Church, 85 Keslar Rd, Winnipeg, Manitoba, with Majors Jamie and Shelley Rands officiating.

If friends desire, donations can be made to The Living Hope Community Church of The Salvation Army, 51 Morrow Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
