Christopher Richard Collins

May 18, 1972 - January 18, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Richard Collins, who passed away on January 18, 2026, at the age of 53 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Born on May 18, 1973, in Toronto, Ontario, Chris was a beloved son, brother and friend whose larger-than-life personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Chris, or Raven as he was affectionately known, will be remembered for his sense of humour, loyalty, and adventurous spirit.

Chris had a lifelong love of hockey and embraced his competitive side through axe throwing with his friends at BATL Grounds, a pastime that suited both his strength and playful nature.

He also had a special fascination with Viking history and culture, admiring their courage, storytelling, and warrior spirit. He appreciated the simple pleasures in life, whether sharing a laugh with friends over a pint of Guinness or spending time at home relaxing with a delicious meal and perfect glass of wine.

Professionally, Chris enjoyed a distinguished 33-year career in the packaging industry, taking an early retirement from Progress Luv2Pak in 2023. His career not only brought him great pride but also afforded him the opportunity to travel extensively and experience other parts of the world.

His appreciation for adventure led him to forge a new path, relocating to Shoal Lake, Manitoba in 2022, where he formed meaningful friendships and found the peace and stability he always longed for.

Chris will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Louise Boehler, his sisters, Robyn (Cory) Price (nee Collins) and Ashleigh Upshaw, as well as his extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, David Richard Collins; his grandparents, Earl and Ann Collins and Bernadette Boehler; and many other cherished members of his family.

The family expresses a special thank you to the staff at the Minnedosa Personal Care Home and Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg for their compassionate care during Chris’ final journey.

A cremation service took place on January 28, 2026. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 23, 2026,  1-4:30 pm at G.H. Hogle Funeral Home.
