Kathleen (Kay) Mary Dent

November 26, 1936 - March 1, 2026

Kathleen (Kay) was born in Emo Ontario on November 26, 1936, and grew up and raised a family in the Fort Frances-Kenora area.

After raising kids and being a beautiful seamstress, Kay owned and operated a children's clothing store in Kenora.  In the early 2000s she moved to Alberta where 2 of her daughters were living and then in 2011 moved to Winnipeg with daughter Nancy and family.

She lived at Seine River and then Catherine Place and after a lengthy illness passed peacefully at Riverview Medical Centre.

Kay was predeceased by her son in law Robert Ogilvie and is survived by all of her children, Leanne (Sonia), Nancy (Dave), Melanie, and Mark (Kathy). Kay also has 5 grandchildren Amii, Dustin (Rachel), Patrick (Kati), Brendan (Lynn) and Jason (Julie) along with 6 great grandchildren, Gabriel, Emilia, Nolan, Nathan, Mabel and baby Greyson.

She is also survived by her sister Ethel Morris of Lindsay On and her son Kevin (Catherine).

The family sends thanks to the wonderful caregivers from St. Boniface homecare that helped looked after mom and keep her at Catherine Place as long as possible. Once mom was moved to Riverview the staff there provided amazing care for mom's last 2 months of life.

A private cremation has taken place, and a private family celebration of life will take place at a later date.
