Marjorie (Marge) Josephine Volek

July 11, 1938 - March 13, 2026

Marge was born on July 11, 1938 in Shoal Lake, Manitoba and passed away peacefully at the Pembina Place Mennonite Personal Care Home at the age of 87 years.  

Mom resided in Manitoba most of her life with many of those years in Winnipeg. She wore  many hats over the years and most fondly talked about her work with the Archbishops at  St. Mary’s Cathedral in Winnipeg. During her life she also enjoyed some travels to France,  Mexico, Caribbean and trips across Canada. 

Mom will always be remembered as that “sharp dressed woman”. She took pride in  herself and always looked beautiful. She maintained her love for her family and friends and expressed her compassion and gratitude to everyone. 

Marge will be lovingly remembered by her sons Rick Fowlie (Jo-Ann), Brian Cockrill, Scott  Ferguson (Pam) and grandsons Chace Fowlie and Cody Ferguson. Also leaving behind are  her sisters, Florence, Hazel, Lynda, many nieces, nephews and friends. She was  predeceased by her parents John Hurst and Lorraine Deller and her sister, Winnifred. 

The family wishes to send a big thank you to the wonderful staff at Pembina Place  Mennonite Personal Care Home who were so welcoming and took such great care of Mom.  Their compassion goes beyond words. 

At Mom’s request, there will be no formal service. If family or friends so desire, donations  can be made to the Pembina Place Mennonite Personal Care Home, 285 Pembina Hwy,  Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 2E1
