Mark Michael Cardwell

July 22, 1956 - September 13, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mark Michael Cardwell at his residence on September 13, 2026.

Mark was predeceased by his father, David, and his mother, Virginia.

He leaves to mourn his sisters, Tracy Dufresne of Fort McMurray, Alberta; Fay Cardwell (Garry) of Howardwick, Texas; and Eve Spiropoulos (Sam) of Winnipeg, Manitoba. He will also be lovingly remembered by his nephew, Matt Nash (Ashley) of Fort McMurray, Alberta, along with family and friends who knew and loved him.

Mark retired from Transcontinental Printing at the age of 65 and finally had the time to devote himself to his lifelong project—his home.

Mark loved walking around the neighbourhood, always looking for inspiration and new ideas. For the last five years, there was rarely a shortage of conversation about the amazing things he had planned for his home. There was always another project, another idea, and something else he was going to tackle next.

Mark had a wonderful sense of humour, and perhaps fittingly, he never did quite finish remodeling his home. Then again, anyone who knew Mark knew there was probably always going to be one more project.

His home may have remained a work in progress, but it was something that brought him enjoyment, ideas, and countless conversations with the people in his life.

Mark will be deeply missed by his family and by those who had the pleasure of knowing him. We will remember his humour, his plans, his projects, and the many stories that came along with them.

Rest peacefully, Mark. The renovations can wait.
