Richard Friend

November 30, 1950 - January 30, 2026

Richard Friend – known as Rick to friends and family passed in his home unexpectedly on Friday, January 30, 2026 at the age of 75 years.

Born in Winnipeg, Rick was a proud North Ender.  He often spoke about his childhood friends and the adventures (trouble) they got themselves into.

Rick worked for decades in the trucking industry but had been retired for several years.

He was a lover of all animals who believed you could tell the quality of a person by how they treated them.

Rick was an avid collector of many interesting things and loved to go to antique shows, flea markets and thrift shops.  This was a hobby shared and enjoyed by his wife Vickie. He met many wonderful people throughout his years of collecting who became friends rather than just vendors or fellow collectors.

Rick is survived by his wife of many years, Vickie.

He will be cremated with no service.

Donations to any animal rescue in his name would be greatly appreciated.
