Robert Ellis McClintock
May 7, 1942 - July 19, 2026
Robert passed away at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 84 years.
When people recall my father, Robert Ellis McClintock, two words that easily come to mind are kind and friendly.
I could not agree more.
He was the son of a war hero of the RCAF and that hero’s widow, born in the earlier half of WWII never having met my grandfather. He was raised by my grandmother, who imparted some of her enormous kindness and generosity to him. No one in my life ever showed me more steadfast love and loyalty than my father.
One of my few regrets regarding him is not singing more with him more towards the end of his life. My father had a great love of music, which he established in me very strongly. One of my cherished memories of him is of him singing to a crowd of people as he played his guitar.
For my father, to be kind and friendly to those he met was instinctive, coming to him as readily as a smile. To those he leaves behind, there is a void where a warm laugh, a reassuring hug, an encouraging word, a generous gesture used to be.
A private cremation was held.
He will be missed.
