Sylvia Girouard

February 15, 1949 - April 2, 2026

Sylvia Jeanne Marie Girouard passed away peacefully with family by her side on April 2, 2026, at the St. Boniface General Hospital at the age of 77 years.

She was predeceased by her parents Alphonse and Madeleine (nee Ragot), her sisters Marie-Ange, Michelle, Gisele and her brothers Robert, Edouard, Gabriel and Guy.

Sylvia is survived by her children John (Tracy), Christine, her grandchildren Fae (Nathanael), Sydney (Ethan), Anika, James and Matthew.

She also leaves her brother Luc and her sister Mimi as well as her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Sylvia grew up one of 10 children in Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba. She will always be remembered for her giving heart, her sense of humour and quick wit. She spent most of her working years in the service industry and got to retire to take care of her youngest grandchildren. She was always up for an adventure, especially long drives to Lockport and to seek out great garage sales in the summertime. She loved long walks, especially with her little sidekick Chewie. She will be sorely missed.

The family would like to extend many thanks to the staff at Cancer Care Manitoba, the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital, and the many loved ones who came to visit her in her last days and brought a smile to her face.

A private cremation has taken place.
