Jesse James Humeniuk
May 27, 1975 - April 15, 2026
Jesse Humeniuk, simply known as Jesse, was born on May 27, 1975, in Winnipeg and passed away suddenly on April 15, 2026, at the age of 50. He lived his life with a spirit that was unmistakably his own, and anyone who knew him could tell you that. He arrived with personality and wit that made even an ordinary day feel like it had a punchline waiting in the wings.
Family meant everything to Jesse. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Linda; his son, Chris; his sister, Mikel; and his nephews Nykolas, Stade, Pyotr, Ryder, and great nephew, Simon. Jesse also leaves behind his father William , and brothers Billy, Alexander and Anthony.
He was predeceased by his brother, Wyatt, and his grandmother, who was fondly known as “Grandma” by all his friends.
His life was shaped by both Winnipeg and the lower mainland of British Columbia, where he learned, worked, observed, and collected the kind of life experience that cannot be taught in any classroom, no matter how much the teacher tries. Through hard work and versatility and taking on a variety of jobs, he became a general handyman, and landscaper. If something needed fixing, lifting, installing, securing, Jesse was always willing to lend a hand, whether the task was big, small, messy, or inconvenient.
Jesse lived a life that was never short on character, or a good story. He was fun, loving and witty in a way that could catch you off guard. He had a gift for making people laugh without ever trying too hard. He was also a good listener, which meant that if you had a problem, a tale, or a complaint about life, Jesse would hear you out, honesty, and probably gave you a perfectly timed comment that made the whole situation a lot lighter.
He was funny, creative, and interesting, which is a powerful combination and, frankly, a dangerous one in the hands of a man with a good sense of humor. He loved noisy music, which fits a man who appreciated life with volume, energy, and a bit of glorious chaos. He loved to paint and draw and had an eye for detail. He loved riding motorcycles, and enjoyed being out in nature, where the noise of the world could settle down just enough for him to enjoy the ride, the air, and the freedom. Being subtle was never really his style. Jesse embraced life with energy and personality, and he had a way of making ordinary moments feel like they had a little extra spark in them.
He had a special love for children, and he was the kind of person who could connect with them easily because he understood that laughter, patience, and a little bit of mischief go a long way. He loved his son deeply and made sure Chris got all his heart desired. Jesse gave his love freely and fully.
Jesse will be remembered for his big personality, his quick wit, his stubbornness, his kindness, and the way he could make people laugh even when life was being difficult and dramatic. He had the kind of humor that could turn a rough day into a story worth telling later. He had a presence that could not be ignored. He leaves behind memories filled with warmth, noise, laughter, and love, and those who knew him will carry his spirit with them wherever they go.
